the terms, short version.

joining the waitlist, taking an api key, or sending a request means you agree to these terms with scrub Labs, the company behind scrub. if you're agreeing for a company, you're saying you're allowed to.

an api that reads a message and returns a decision, the stage that made it, categories, and a reason. it is not:

• a replacement for a person on hard cases. send those to review.
• a compliance tool. it doesn't certify you against dsa, kosa, or anything else.
• a promise of any accuracy number. published figures are what we measured, when we measured them.

keep them secret. if one leaks, rotate it. you're responsible for what happens on your keys until they're revoked. one person per account; share through team seats, not shared logins.

• build surveillance that targets people by protected characteristics.
• send content from minors you're not allowed to process.
• get around rate limits, reverse-engineer the models, or try to pull training data out through prompts.
• resell raw responses as your own moderation product without a written deal.
• send malware, phishing, or csam, even "for testing". we report csam.

we can suspend an account that does any of this, with or without notice depending on how bad it is.

until launch in 2027, early access is as-is. it can break, change, or pause without warning. no sla, no price commitment, no feature commitment. the roadmap is a plan, not a promise.

monthly invoices in usd, due in 30 days. usage above your plan is metered and added to the next invoice. cancel any time and we stop charging you; we don't refund partial months. taxes are yours.

what you send us stays yours. you give us permission to process it to return a decision and to improve the service, exactly as the privacy page describes, and nothing more. you can opt out of the improvement part.

the api, models, dashboard, docs, and brand are ours. don't copy or resell them. "powered by scrub" with a link is fine.

• no warranty. we'll work hard to keep scrub running, accurate, and secure, but software makes mistakes and so will this. implied warranties are disclaimed as far as the law allows.
• liability cap. the most we owe you for any claim is what you paid us in the prior 12 months, or $100, whichever is more. no indirect or consequential damages.
• indemnity. breach these terms, get us sued, and you cover it.
• ending it. either side can stop at any time. keys stop working, your data is deleted within 30 days, unpaid invoices stay due.
• where disputes go. california law. binding arbitration in orange county, except either side can go to court over ip misuse. no class actions, where the law allows that.
